Level -30 is the 31st negative level of the Backrooms. It appears to be an endless cavern completely obscured by vines.
Description:
Level -30 is an infinite, spacious cavern with the walls, roof, and floor all being completely obscured by vines and foliage. Holes in the ceiling lead out to a bright white void, providing lighting in the form of god rays throughout the level. Everything is green and lush with little signs of decay and uncleanliness. The air smells natural but pleasant, with many describing it as a mix of floral scents and herbs, as well as a faint smell of rain and freshly-cut grass.
Small berries can be occasionally found sprouting out of some vines, however their edibility is unknown, with some saying they taste like the best berries they ever had, while others say they made them nauseous and sick afterwards, alluding to a possible presence of an acute toxin. There are also occasional bouts of flowing water and lakes that contain mineral water which is somewhat safe to consume in small amounts. Surprisingly, Almond Water cannot be found on this level.
Occasionally, one may come across vines that seem to move on their own, acting shy and cautious in the presence of wanderers. Any attempts to kill or torture these vines will result in them doing the same to you back. It is not advised to stay on this level for too long, as many have claimed that rashes started forming on their bodies via long-term exposure to the many vines.
Bases, Outposts, and Communities:
The Karmatic Studentries
- A group of ~15 wanderers.
- They seem to be adapted to the vines, despite being blatantly covered in rashes.
- Claim to be “Students of the Vines”.
- Resort most of their time in studying the foliage found throughout the cave.
Entrances and Exits:
To enter Level -30, you must no-clip through some foliage in Level 30 or Level 37, in which you will find yourself laying on the ground. You can also enter via a door in Level -29.
Exiting is simple, simply crawl through one of the ceiling holes to reach Level -34.
