The core.
Description
Level 545 is the 546'th Level of the Backrooms.
Level 545 is what seems to be an abandoned gas station. It is a class 3 level with a low entity count. Level 545 seems to be located in the ruins of a city in perpetual winter. The level has a day-night cycle similar to that of the frontrooms, making it ideal for maintaining a healthy sleep cycle.
During the day, the level is lit up with a foggy blue and purple haze almost if coming from a panel of surrounding windows. This light seems to be controlled by the streetlights surrounding the station itself. The nozzles of the gasoline pumps dispense almond water, however, at night they dispose liquid pain. The almond water is safe to drink, however, some travelers have reported a "burning sensation" in their mouths after drinking too close to nightfall.
The gas station sector of this level is referred to as the "core". Within the core, little to no entities are present. The core is the most stable part of level 545. however, there is a small chance of no-clipping to the more dangerous parts of 545 while traveling. The core contains a small grocery store run by a faceling named Viktor. This mini-mart contains a similar snack selection to that of an individual vending machine inside Level 6.l. Viktor seems to be friendly and will restock the shelves every 24 hours. If you kindly ask him for super almond water, there will be a 2% chance he'll have it in stock. If you thank him, he'll make sure to remember your name and your snack requests.
The mini-mart.
Venturing past the core will put you in the "shell". The shell of this level contains six abandoned Japanese 70s-style apartment complexes, each containing generous loot. The abandoned buildings are infested with smilers and wretches. Reality is semi-stable in this sector and it isn't difficult to no-clip through these apartment walls. It's common to see the environment around you warp and change while traversing these apartments. Auditory hallucinations are almost guaranteed. Most explorers report hearing screams in another language, seemingly Japanese, coming from behind locked doors in the sector. Sanity drains quickly in these complexes and the wretched cycle progresses faster while in the shell. Almond water can delay these effects, allowing the buildings to be semi-hospitable after killing the entities.
The shell.
If a traveler walks further, they will enter the "husk". Fatigue occurs quicker in this sector due to no longer being able to see the lights of the gas station. The night is no longer separable from the day, meaning the husk is enclosed in perpetual darkness. Smilers are the most common entity here. Spending more than 12 hours in the husk will induce similar effects to liquid pain. It is rumored that memory worms reside in the furthest stretch of the husk. Nobody has made it past 15 hours in this sector.
Bases, Outposts and Communities
No bases exist at the moment, although there's evidence of previous communities having lived in the shell. It's theorized that most if not all of these previous communities have succumbed to the wretched cycle.
Entrances And Exits
Entrances
You can enter 545 by no-clipping through the floor of Level 4 or asking any adult faceling if they "know Viktor".
Exit
You can exit 545 by asking Viktor if he has "flavored almond water" in stock. This will send you to Level 6.1. You can also press the down arrow in an elevator in the shell to be transported to Level 6.
