One of the exhibits on Level 504's ground floor.

Level 504 is the 505th level of the Backrooms. It appears to be an infinite children’s museum, being officially discovered by the M.E.G. on 4/27/2023.

Description:

Level 504 is a seemingly endless children’s edutainment complex, filled with colorful trinkets and learning tools. The walls are painted with vibrant murals and the floors are of carpet that comes in a variety of designs. A variety of different areas exist within the level, which can be accessed depending on the floor of the museum you are on.

On the ground floor, there are a variety of different indoor playgrounds, makeshift shops and police/fire stations, and many rooms filled with scientific learning materials often relating to the studies of basic physics and geometry. Of course, since this is the Backrooms, the lessons portrayed are often bizarre and nonsensical, often causing objects to no-clip through surfaces, or even float in mid-air. There are also exhibits showcasing and explaining the inner workings of the Backrooms’ non-Euclidean geometry in simplistic form. Wooden bridges that look down to reveal lower floors are also common.

Below the ground floor is the basement floor, holding the same general aesthetic however with a lack of windows. This area can be accessed via the many staircases found on the ground floor, or by falling off the many wooden bridges, however this is not advised. The ceilings are much higher and many exhibits often connect to the higher floors of the complex. One example of this is a large clock tower that can be seen in both the basement and ground floor. An area labeled “Water Works” can be found, which appears as a large demonstration of how water flows through surfaces, along with toys and decorations like before.

Other exhibits found on the basement floor include a system of ground mole tunnels which seem to be specifically designed for children, as they can be extremely claustrophobic and hard to navigate for anyone above 5 feet in height. These tunnels are dark with the occasional dim light source, along with openings ending in wooden peace signs. Near these tunnels is a large stage. Behind the stage is a dress up hallway which contains hundreds of different clothing items to choose from, in order to act on stage. A music room can be found near this stage, including an upright piano propped alongside some play instruments and percussion such as maracas, drums, and tambourines.

An enormous indoor clock tower that connects to both the basement and ground floor is accessible through both areas. The tower appears to be made of mostly orangish-red plastic, while the inside is made of plastic staircases and rooms as well as netted walls. It is possible to climb this clock tower, and at the very top is a large bell that faintly chimes every 2 hours. There is also a microphone attached to a speaker, allowing one to announce whatever they would like to any passerbys.

As for what is above the ground floor, there exists a second and third floor, which can either be accessed by staircases or elevators. The second floor includes more down-to-earth types of exhibits, for example a set of toy train tracks which can be assembled into any shape. There’s also more scientific-related exhibits, similar to the ground floor, but one thing that differentiates the second floor is the abundance of windows, as well as the existence of small classroom areas. The windows usually show a white void, but there have not been any reported cases of them being Entity 2. The fourth floor seems to be nothing special, only being accessible via the elevators. It only contains a handful of exhibits which are sparsely placed and described as “boring”. It is thought to be under construction in some way.

After traveling a few dozens of miles on the ground floor, one may come across an empty receptionist desk. Near this desk is a lounge area alongside some vending machines containing Almond Water and Twin Fingers, among other snacks. These snacks seem to restock every other day.

Across the museum are sparsely placed televisions which only seem to play edutainment programs from the 2010’s, including PBS Kids, Discovery Family, and Disney Junior. While it is possible to change the channel via a remote or by pressing the buttons on the side of the TV, there seems to be only a selection of these channels, all being re-runs. The only common entities on Level 504 are both adult and child Facelings, however they are not hostile and only appear very rarely. They usually appear in groups of 3-5, similarly to an average family.

Level 504 has a unique entity, appearing as a humanoid girl with a TV head. The screen is usually blue with a cutesy smiley face on its center. She stands at around 5'8, often wearing casual clothing and gloves. The entity calls herself "Jenny".

Below is an interview conducted with this entity.

Jenny Interview Log / 2/24/2024

M.E.G. Operative: Hello, your name is Jenny, correct?

Jenny: Yes! Uhhh…what's your name?

M.E.G. Operative: [REDACTED].

Jenny: Are you ready to learn something new and awesome today? Just follow me!

M.E.G. Operative: Wait. I'm trying to learn more about you.

Jenny: Ummm…okay. It's just, I…

M.E.G. Operative: Is something wrong? You look…scared.

Jenny: I wanted to talk to someone who, wanted to learn. You are kind of…um…old and a bit grumpy…n-no offense.

M.E.G. Operative: H-Hey! I'm not that old. I'm only 28!

Jenny: Do…do you think I can tell that?

M.E.G. Operative: You can't? Oh…

[Pause]

M.E.G. Operative: I guess that makes sense. How old are you, then?

Jenny: …E-Enough with these questions, I just want to teach wanderers about the physics and nature of the Backrooms. Please…?

M.E.G. Operative: *sigh* Okay I guess. I'm starting to think this mission is a failure…

Jenny: Uhh…I heard that…

Jenny seems to be very child-like and only wanting to teach people about the exhibits, becoming frustrated at anyone who acts "boring" or adult-like. It should be noted, however, that she can't actually tell someone's age by looking at them.

Bases, Outposts and Communities:

There are two known bases on Level 504.

Jenny's Friends and Students:

  • These are a group of 10 wanderers, each aged 18-24.
  • They seem to be acquainted with Jenny, regularly attending her studies and learning about the exhibits.
  • Reside in tents and sleeping bags on the basement floor.
  • Designate regular trips to the vending machines to restock every so often.

M.E.G. Outpost "Edutainment Study":

  • An outpost created by the M.E.G. in order to study the physics and non-Euclidean geometry of the Backrooms.
  • Consists of 30 agents.
  • Reside in the fourth floor.
  • Jenny seems to be fearful of their presense.

Entrances and Exits:

Exits:

  • To exit, you must find the sliding glass doors which will take you to Level 11.
  • You can also find a staircase near these doors that lead to Level 35.
  • The Water Works area can lead to Level 43, Level 119, or Level 247 upon staying there for a prolonged period of time.
  • A door within the mole tunnels can lead to Level 127.
