Level 1,037, commonly referred to as “The Sublime”, is the 38th level of Cluster II, as well as the 1,038th level of the Backrooms as a whole. It appears as a large expanse of landscape similar to The Frontrooms before the existence of any human settlements.

Description

Level 1,037's sublime landscape.

Level 1,037 is an infinitely stretching region of majestic landscapes separated into what appears to be at least a dozen of different biomes. Its appearance mimics that of Earth in the Frontrooms, reminding wanderers of the life they may have left behind.

Mountains, rivers, fields and forests populate many of the landscape’s ecosystems. Cutting through some pieces of land are large ravines and waterfalls that defy the normal laws of physics and nature—some of which go infinitely deep into an unending void.

Cave systems populate the interiors of Level 1,037, covered in moss and different flora and lit by the occasional holes that bring in light from above. These god rays provide warmth and comfort to those standing in their view. Veins of valuable and mysterious ore can be found deep within these caves, which has led to a rudimentary system of trade and travel. It should be noted that many different kinds of animals—not unlike those found in the Frontrooms—are abundant as well, roaming the fields or soaring through the skies depending on the species.

Food is abundant, typically presenting itself in the form of fruits growing on trees as well as the many different livestock that roam the fields. Almond Water does not seem to be present on this level, instead taking the form of regular water within lakes, rivers, oceans, and the occasional rainfall. Providing everything necessary for long-term stay, those with adequate survival skills often choose to settle down here. Albeit, after everything one has likely been through to reach this point, most if not all wanderers who end up here have developed sufficient skills in being a survivalist.

A day/night cycle exists on this floor, providing a sense of time for those who stay here. Lasting about 24 hours—similarly to Earth—many people decide to settle down here after the long perilous journey that is Cluster II. During the night time, the animals retreat into the shadows, and the occasional hostile entity may emerge. It is not uncommon for them to be of an indeterminate or undocumented species, however most quickly learn how to counter them via the many skills they have learned on their journey. The night sky shown above includes star patterns appearing similarly but completely different from those on Earth, having yet to be fully studied.

Those who have decided to stay on Level 1,037 say they have done so by achieving inner peace within themselves and their view on the Backrooms, finally finding a place to spend the rest of their days.

Bases, Outposts and Communities

As mentioned previously, many wanderers decide to reside here after their journey. However, most choose to live in solitude. While there are small groups of people living in unison, they typically cap out at 5-10 at most.

Entrances & Exits:

To enter Level 1,037, you must fall asleep in the grass in one of Cluster II's early levels which have a presence of it. Upon waking up, you will find yourself in one of Level 1,037's expanses.

To exit, you must go deep enough in one single biome until it transitions into that of a singular level from Cluster I, one with a high natural presence. These levels include:

It should be noted that any method exit from Level 1,037 requires intentional thought, it is impossible to exit by accident.
